1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you create an account, we collect the following information you provide directly:

• Email address
• Display name and age
• Gender
• Bio/description
• Location (city name and, optionally, GPS coordinates)
• Political values you select
• Photos you upload
• Dating preferences (age range, distance)

When you use the app, we also store your swipe history, matches, and messages to provide the service.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

• To create and maintain your profile
• To show your profile to potential matches
• To calculate distance between you and other users (if you provide location)
• To deliver messages between matched users
• To process payments for premium subscriptions
• To enforce our community guidelines (reports and blocks)

3. INFORMATION SHARING

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Period.

We share data only with the following service providers, strictly to operate the app:

• Supabase — database hosting and user authentication
• Stripe — payment processing (we never see or store your credit card number)
• Google / Facebook — only if you choose to sign in with these providers

We do not use any analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking pixels.

4. LOCATION DATA

Location data is collected only when you explicitly tap "Use My Location." It is used solely to find matches near you. Your precise coordinates are never displayed to other users — only the city name you enter is visible. Location data is never sold or shared with third parties.

5. PHOTOS

Photos you upload are stored securely in our cloud storage. They are visible to other users as part of your profile. When you delete a photo or your account, the photo files are permanently removed from our servers.

6. DATA SECURITY

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure password hashing, and row-level security policies on our database. Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers.

7. DATA RETENTION & DELETION

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile, photos, messages, matches, and swipe history. This action cannot be undone.

8. COOKIES & LOCAL STORAGE

We use essential cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in). We store your notification preferences in your browser's local storage. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party cookies.

9. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS

If you grant permission, we send browser notifications for new matches and messages. No notification tokens are stored on our servers. You can disable notifications at any time from the Settings page or your browser settings.

10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

STR8R is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the app. Continued use of STR8R after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
